Hurtta Extreme Overall II is Hurtta's warmest winter overall, designed for dogs that need maximum warmth and protection in freezing temperatures, wind and snow. Full-body coverage protects the torso and legs, while the foil-pattern lining reflects body heat back toward the dog.

The second-generation fit offers improved freedom of movement, adjustment at the back length, neckline, chest and waist, a high insulated hood and a closable harness opening. Hurtta rates it for approximately −5 to −30 °C with a water column of at least 10,000 mm.

How to measure your dog

For an overall, back length alone is not enough — also check the neck, chest and leg measurements.

Back length

Measure your dog while standing from the withers / start of the back to the base of the tail, following the spine.

The size number is based primarily on back length, while the letter indicates the fit for different body proportions. S is intended for smaller, slimmer and generally shorter-legged dogs. M provides more room for medium neck and chest proportions and has longer legs. So if a dog matches size 30 by back length, choose between 30S and 30M using neck, chest and leg measurements.

Maximum warmth and full-body protection for real winter weather.

Hurtta describes Extreme Overall II as the warmest product in its range.

It is made for the coldest winter days, long periods outdoors, breaks between activities and dogs that are especially sensitive to cold. The closed front, insulation, high hood and long legs reduce exposure to wind and snow, while the updated fit still allows running, playing and natural movement.

Close for warmth, shaped for freedom of movement

Hurtta redesigned both the front and rear. The front gives the forelegs more room while sitting slightly higher, and the back follows the body more closely. The new back-length adjustment shortens from a more appropriate point along the spine rather than at the base of the tail.

WARMTH & INSULATION

Heat-reflecting lining, soft padding and a high hood

The technical lining uses an aluminium foil pattern to reflect part of the dog's body heat. Insulation is 120 g in the smaller sizes and 140 g in sizes 45M–65M. The high foil-lined hood adds protection around the neck and, for short-haired or sensitive dogs, around the ears.

FOR SNOW, WIND & WINTER WET

Houndtex® membrane and closable harness access

The recycled 75D polyester shell with mechanical stretch uses a Houndtex® TPU membrane. The surface has a fluorocarbon-free RUCO®-DRY PLUS water-repellent treatment and critical seams are taped. The harness opening closes with a snap when not in use to reduce exposure to wind, snow and rain.

What to know before ordering

What temperatures is it designed for?

Hurtta gives an indicative thermal range of −5 to −30 °C. Actual clothing needs still depend on coat type, age, health, activity level and the individual dog's cold tolerance.

Is Extreme Overall II waterproof?

Its technical rating states a water column of at least 10,000 mm with critical seams taped. It is designed for snow, wind and winter wet, but real-world protection still depends on duration and conditions.

Can I use a harness underneath?

Yes. The overall has a closable opening for attaching a leash to most common harnesses worn underneath.

What is the difference between S and M?

The number is based mainly on back length, while the letter indicates the fit. S is for smaller, slimmer and generally shorter-legged dogs; M gives more room through the neck and chest and has longer legs. That is why 30S and 30M can share the same back-length category but differ in body proportions.

Is it suitable for older or cold-sensitive dogs?

Yes. Hurtta also highlights it for older and sensitive dogs, short winter walks, travel and resting periods when keeping muscles warm is especially useful.
