A warm winter coat for dogs in cold, rain, snow and damp winter weather. PerusPomppa combines a durable waterproof outer material with a dense, soft teddy lining that provides a high level of thermal comfort.
The simple cut covers the back, belly and hindquarters while leaving the shoulders and legs free for natural movement. The coat is put on without pulling the legs through sleeves and a wide belly strap keeps it securely in place.

The most important measurement is the back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Your dog should stand straight in a natural stance. Measure the back length from where the neck meets the back to the base of the tail. Measure snugly without adding extra allowance. For a dog with a thick coat, also take the volume of the fur into account. Back length is the starting point; body shape makes the final decision If your dog is between two sizes, compare both options according to body shape. A smaller size may fit a slim dog or a dog carrying its tail high better. For a sturdier build, thick coat or layering, the larger size may be more suitable. PerusPomppa is a warm winter coat that combines a durable waterproof outer material with a dense, soft teddy lining.
The simple construction provides extensive body coverage without sleeves or complicated fastenings, leaving your dog free to walk, run and enjoy winter outings.

The manufacturer classifies PerusPomppa as High warmth and it is designed primarily for cold autumn and winter weather.
For dogs with thick coats, it works as a classic winter jacket. For cold-sensitive, short-haired or older dogs, it can also make sense during cooler transitional weather.

No sleeves. No lifting paws.
PerusPomppa is simply placed over the dog and secured with a wide belly strap. There is no need to pull individual legs through sleeves.
The construction leaves plenty of room around the shoulders and front legs, while the rear section also covers the large muscle groups on the thighs.

Back and lower back
The warm lining covers a large area of the back and helps protect the major muscle groups.
Belly
The wide lower section covers the sensitive belly area and also works as the fastening strap.
Hindquarters
The extended rear section also covers the thigh area without the need for trouser legs.
Neck area
The high collar provides additional protection against wind and winter weather.
Classic version without a harness opening
This SweetEnergy product page includes the classic colours Curry, Cosmos, Petrol, Orange and Kartta.
These versions are without a harness opening and without rear leg straps. We therefore recommend wearing the harness over the coat.
The newer PerusPomppa generation with a harness opening is listed as a separate product on SweetEnergy, so the features of the two versions should not be mixed.
For the outdoors, not just around the house
Pomppa states a tear resistance of the PerusPomppa outer fabric of 50 N. The material is designed for active movement, running and normal contact with vegetation during outdoor trips.
Reflective details on the coat also help make the dog more visible in poor light.

PerusPomppa can be combined with the close-fitting JumppaPomppa as a base layer.
Layering is particularly useful for very cold-sensitive dogs, while waiting between sports performances or during long periods outdoors in low temperatures. Always monitor your dog's individual thermal comfort.
How to choose the right size?
The starting point is the back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. The dog should stand straight while being measured.
The number alone is not everything. The final fit is affected by chest width, waist, coat volume and how the dog carries its tail.
When the measurement falls between two sizes, we do not recommend automatically choosing the same direction every time: the smaller option may work better for a slim dog or one carrying its tail high, while for a sturdier dog, thick coat or planned layering, the larger size should also be checked.

Note on materials in older and newer items
Since the 2022/23 season, Pomppa has made the outer material from 100% recycled polyester. The manufacturer notes, however, that previously produced pieces made from conventional polyester may still be in circulation.
Because this page includes older seasonal colours, we do not state recycled material as a feature of every individual item. According to Pomppa, the functional properties of both versions are the same.
Care
Wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colours. Fasten the buckle before washing.
Do not use fabric softener or bleach, do not tumble dry and do not iron.
Restore the water repellency of the outer layer after washing. If water stops beading and running off after several washes, Pomppa recommends renewing the DWR with a suitable waterproofing treatment for outdoor clothing.

Is PerusPomppa waterproof?
The outer material has a documented 5,000 mm waterproof rating and a water-repellent surface treatment. It is therefore designed for rain, sleet and wet snow.
How warm is PerusPomppa?
Pomppa rates it as High warmth. Most of the warmth comes from the dense teddy lining, which is significantly warmer than the thin lining in KevytPomppa.
Does it have a separate insulating fill?
Current Pomppa technical information for PerusPomppa lists a waterproof outer fabric and thick teddy lining. The manufacturer uses a separate added insulation layer only in the warmer ToppaPomppa.
Does it have a harness opening?
The Curry, Cosmos, Petrol, Orange and Kartta variants on this product page do not have a harness opening. We recommend wearing the harness over the coat.
Does it have elastic loops or straps around the rear legs?
No. Pomppa only began adding rear leg straps to newer colour generations from 2024. The classic variants on this page do not have them.
Can JumppaPomppa be worn under PerusPomppa?
Yes. The manufacturer specifically states that PerusPomppa can be combined with JumppaPomppa as a warm mid-layer.
Which size should I choose?
Start with the back length from where the neck meets the back to the base of the tail. If your dog is between two sizes, also consider body width, coat volume, tail carriage and any planned layering.

Veľmi som spokojná , poradenstvo 100 bodov, dodanie pomppa oblečku 100 bodov, mala som síce šťastie, že zrovna veľkosť ktorú sme potrebovali ste mali skladom, ale aj tak som nečakala také rýchle dodanie, kvalita oblečku výborná . Dnes bolo u nás -4 stupne a naša Maybe otestovala pomppa perus aj v tomto počasí . Myslím že bola spokojná :) . Takže aj ona odporúča všetkými štyrmi packami ;) . Oblečerk je výborný, krásně sedí. Jen jediné, co bych vytkla, je že chybí gumičky na zadních nohách - často při divočejší hře bordeře spadne ze zadku - vyřešila jsem to tak, že jsem si tam gumičky našila a už je naprosto dokonalý :)
