A lightweight insulated raincoat for dogs in cool, wet and changeable weather. KevytPomppa combines a waterproof outer layer with a thin, soft lining, so it provides more warmth than a classic raincoat without being as warm or bulky as a winter coat.
It is ideal for autumn, spring, rainy trips and longer walks. Its simple cut covers the back, belly and hindquarters while giving your dog freedom for natural movement. In cooler weather it can be layered, for example, over JumppaPomppa.

For Pomppa clothing, the main measurement is the back length from the withers to the base of the tail. Your dog should stand straight in a natural stance. Measure the back length from the withers – where the neck meets the back – to the base of the tail. Then also measure the widest part of the neck, the widest part of the chest and the waist. With thick fur, allow room for the coat. Why is there no universal neck and chest chart here? KevytPomppa has been produced for many years, and this product page includes both older and newer colour generations. Pomppa has adjusted the cut over time, and published secondary measurements differ between generations. We therefore do not want to assign measurements from a different generation to your garment. Is your dog between two sizes? The current KevytPomppa has a regular fit. For slim dogs or dogs that carry their tail high, Pomppa recommends considering the smaller size. When it is too cold for a raincoat but too warm for a winter coat.
KevytPomppa is a lightweight insulated raincoat for rainy, cooler days in spring, autumn and during milder winter weather.
The waterproof outer material protects against rain and wind, while the thin, soft synthetic lining adds a comfortable layer of warmth without unnecessary weight.

Right between a raincoat and a winter coat
KevytPomppa was designed for weather when a thin raincoat alone is not enough, but a heavily insulated winter coat would be unnecessarily warm.
Pomppa describes it as a lightweight transitional waterproof coat with medium warmth. For cold-sensitive dogs it is mainly suitable for autumn and spring; hardier dogs can also use it during a milder winter.

Waterproof outer material
The current KevytPomppa has a waterproof rating of 5 000 mm and a water-repellent surface treatment.
Thin synthetic lining
The soft fleece-like lining adds warmth while remaining significantly lighter than the lining of the classic winter PerusPomppa.
Antistatic properties
The lining is designed to reduce tangling and static in the dog's coat.
Lightweight for travel
KevytPomppa packs down relatively compactly, making it easy to carry in a backpack in case the weather changes.
For an active outdoor life
The current KevytPomppa uses an exceptionally durable outer fabric with a declared tear resistance of 50 N. Pomppa compares its durability to materials used for workwear.
It is therefore suitable not only for city walks, but also for active trips, running outdoors and movement in more demanding terrain.
Coverage without lifting the legs
Covered back
The rear section protects large muscle groups and extends over the hindquarters.
Protected belly
The lower section helps protect the belly from water, wind and dirt from the ground.
Free shoulders
The construction leaves the front legs free for a natural range of motion.
Easy to put on
The coat is placed over the back and fastened around the body without having to pull the legs through sleeves.
Over JumppaPomppa when the temperature drops
KevytPomppa can be worn on its own, but Pomppa also designed it as a waterproof shell layer over JumppaPomppa.
This gives you a stretchy warm layer close to the body with rain and wind protection above it. Always adjust the number of layers to the weather, activity level and your dog's individual tolerance to cold.
Harness opening? It depends on the colour generation.
KevytPomppa has been available for many years and Pomppa has gradually updated its construction. As a result, not all colour variants on this shared product page are structurally identical.
Harness opening
Pomppa began adding it in 2023. The manufacturer confirms it, for example, on Plum, Graphite, Lime, Trail, Forest, Rust, Midnight and Moss variants.
Rear leg straps
These were added later. The manufacturer confirms them on Trail, Forest, Rust, Midnight and Moss colours and on future new colours.
With an older colour variant, you therefore cannot automatically assume that it has a harness opening or rear leg straps. The exact construction of the selected variant is what matters.
How to choose the right size?
Pomppa sizes are based primarily on back length from the withers to the base of the tail. The size number approximately corresponds to the back length in centimetres.
According to the manufacturer, the current KevytPomppa has a regular fit. For a narrow dog or a dog carrying its tail high, the manufacturer recommends considering the smaller option when the measurement falls between two sizes.
This product page includes several colour generations, and published neck, chest and waist charts differ between them. If unsure, we therefore recommend checking the specific variant with our sizing advice.

From the 2022/23 season, Pomppa switched the outer fabric to 100% recycled polyester. Conventional polyester was used in older production series.
Because this product page also includes older seasonal colours, we do not present recycled material as a universal feature of every individual item.
Care
Wash at 30°C with similar colours. Do not use fabric softener or bleach, do not tumble dry and do not iron.
The water-repellent surface treatment may gradually weaken with washing. If water no longer beads and runs off the surface effectively, the water repellency can be restored with a suitable treatment for outdoor clothing.

Is KevytPomppa waterproof?
Yes. The current model uses a waterproof outer material with a 5,000 mm waterproof rating. The surface also has a water-repellent treatment.
How warm is it?
The manufacturer rates it as a medium-warm garment. It is warmer than the uninsulated SadePomppa, but lighter than the classic winter PerusPomppa.
Is it suitable for winter too?
It depends on the individual dog and the weather. The manufacturer recommends it mainly for cool autumn and spring weather, but dogs that tolerate cold well can also use it during milder winter conditions.
Can it be worn over JumppaPomppa?
Yes. Pomppa specifically recommends KevytPomppa as a waterproof outer layer over JumppaPomppa when you need more warmth.
Does it have a harness opening?
It depends on the specific colour and production generation. Pomppa began adding the opening in 2023. Older variants do not have it, so follow the exact construction of the selected colour.
Does it have rear leg straps?
Older KevytPomppa versions do not have rear leg straps. Pomppa began adding them to newer colour generations from 2024.
Which size should I choose?
Start with the back length from the withers to the base of the tail. The current model has a regular fit. For a slim dog or a dog carrying its tail high, Pomppa recommends considering the smaller option when between sizes. For older colour generations, we recommend checking the neck, chest and waist individually as well.
Pack it in your backpack in case the weather changes its mind.
