How to measure your dog correctly?

Your dog should stand upright in a natural position. Measure the back length from the base of the neck to the base of the tail. Measure the neck around its lower, wider part and the chest around the widest part of the rib cage. For thick coats, allow some extra room for the fur.

The values in the chart are dog measurements Back length is the main measurement, but always check the final fit against the neck, chest, coat volume and overall body shape.

Is your dog exactly between two sizes? Older SadePomppa sizing guides differ slightly in their advice for dogs between sizes. For that reason, we do not automatically recommend either the smaller or larger size. Compare both sizes based on chest measurement, body shape and whether you plan to add another layer underneath.

SadePomppa is a lightweight all-season raincoat that protects your dog from rain, wind and dirt without a warm winter lining.

It is practical for long-haired and well-coated dogs that mainly need protection from wet weather, as well as for dogs that feel the cold on warmer rainy days.

All-season raincoat without thermal insulation

SadePomppa is not a lightweight winter coat or a softshell jumper. It is primarily a thin waterproof shell, designed to protect your dog from rain, wind and wet dirt.

For a well-coated dog, it can therefore be used practically all year round. For a dog that is more sensitive to cold, it is best suited to warmer rainy weather or as an outer layer.

The older SadePomppa variants are documented with a 5,000 mm waterproof rating.

Water-repellent surface

The surface treatment helps water bead and run off the fabric, reducing rapid soaking.

Wind protection

The shell construction also helps protect the coat from cold, damp wind.

Mud stays on the raincoat

Coverage of the back, sides and lower body helps reduce the amount of water and dirt reaching the coat.

Smooth lining without unnecessary warmth

The inside of SadePomppa is made from a lightweight, smooth antistatic fabric. Unlike KevytPomppa or PerusPomppa, it does not have a warm fleece-like lining.

The smooth material attracts less dog hair and small debris, which is especially practical for longer or thicker coats.

Coverage without restricting movement

Free shoulders

The cut leaves the front legs and shoulders free for a natural range of motion.

Wide belly panel

The lower panel covers part of the belly while helping keep the raincoat in place.

Covered rear section

The extended cut protects the lower back and large muscle groups of the hindquarters.

High collar

The neck section provides additional protection from rain and wind.

Reflective details for dark rainy days

Older SadePomppa versions use reflective details around the collar and rear section, which help make your dog more visible when illuminated.

This is not a fully reflective garment, so we describe it as having “reflective details” rather than as a “fully reflective raincoat”.

On its own or over JumppaPomppa

If your dog only needs rain protection, SadePomppa works perfectly on its own.

In colder weather, it can also be used as a waterproof outer layer over a close-fitting warm jumper, such as JumppaPomppa.

Harness opening: it depends on the generation

Pomppa only began adding a harness opening to its coats in newer production generations. Current SadePomppa versions have it in selected colours such as Plum, Graphite, Lime, Forest and Trail.

This SweetEnergy product page also includes older colours Kymppi and Papaya, which come from an earlier generation of the model. For that reason, we do not list a harness opening as a universal product feature.

If a harness opening is important to you, we recommend checking whether it is present on the specific colour variant.

How to choose the right size?

The key measurement is back length from where the neck meets the back to the base of the tail.

For this older generation, also check the neck circumference and the widest part of the chest. The chart above lists dog measurements.

If the measurement falls exactly between two sizes, do not automatically choose the smaller or larger one. Older sales guides differ on this point, so take your dog’s build, coat volume and any base layer into account.

Is SadePomppa waterproof?

Yes. This SadePomppa model is documented with a 5,000 mm waterproof rating. It is a lightweight raincoat designed to protect against rain, wind and wet dirt.

Is SadePomppa insulated?

No. Inside there is only a thin, smooth antistatic lining. This makes the raincoat suitable for well-coated dogs and for use on warmer rainy days.

Is it a softshell?

A more accurate description is a lightweight waterproof shell raincoat. The manufacturer presents SadePomppa as a raincoat, not as a classic warm softshell garment.

Does it have a harness opening?

It depends on the production generation. Kymppi and Papaya are older colour variants. Newer SadePomppa colours may have a harness opening. If you need one, check the specific variant.

Can I layer a jumper underneath?

Yes. The thin SadePomppa can be used as a waterproof outer layer over a close-fitting warm jumper when your dog needs extra warmth.

Which size should I choose?

Start with the back length, then check the neck and chest. If the measurement falls exactly between sizes, take body shape, coat and any planned layering into account.

As little material as possible between your dog and the adventure. As much rain protection as possible.
